gstreamer1.0-tools software package provides Tools for use with GStreamer, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gstreamer1.0-tools
gstreamer1.0-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gstreamer1.0-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gstreamer1.0-tools *
You will get with gstreamer1.0-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
